Our approach
Clear communication is essential to our work. We listen to a client’s needs and dreams and then provide guidance, ideas, and solutions. From the day we step foot in your home, we communicate clearly and promptly about expectations, scheduling, and billing.
We take a lot of care in our work, both in the technical details, and in how we treat clients’ homes. We plan projects to give ourselves the time and preparation needed to do things the right way. We know this work sets a safe foundation for your home and family, and we take that responsibility to heart.
I’m Noah Burton, the founder of Kingfisher Electric. I am a master electrician with over a decade of experience working in Ann Arbor’s basements, attics, crawl spaces, and garages. My electrical work has been primarily focused on residential remodels, upgrades, and service work.
I came to the trade in a roundabout way. After earning a BA from Western Michigan University to teach Spanish, I quickly decided it wasn’t the career path for me. I moved to New York City, where I worked in restaurants for a decade. On my days off from the restaurant, I built lamps in my apartment as a creative outlet. The appreciation of good lighting and the realization that I didn’t want to work in restaurants for the rest of my life led me to the trades. I moved home to Ann Arbor and began apprenticing.
I started Kingfisher because I saw an opportunity to provide Ann Arbor homeowners with the care, communication, and guidance in a constantly changing world. I grew up in Ann Arbor and live here now with my family; I love to fly fish the Huron River, where I’m always keeping an eye out for kingfishers, which inspired the name of my company.
“We worked with Noah on a kitchen remodel in our 100-year-old home. His knowledge and expertise guided us to achieve form and function beyond what we knew was possible. Throughout the experience, he communicated clearly and showed our family the utmost consideration—treating our home like his own and being mindful of how his work might affect our daily lives.”
